Job Hunting

There are so many people who have had it really rough since times got hard in the world. I have been incredibly lucky my life has been the way that it has. But I do have one major problem with finding a job. It's not having to drive around or network (although talking to people has never really been my strong suit) or even trying to literally sell myself to another human being to attempt to gain employment. These are all things I have to do in order to get published, right? No, my only problem with having to find a job is that all I want to do is write. In my perfect world I would be able to stay home and work on all the ideas that keep zooming around in my brain screaming for attention. I mean, honestly. These are just a few of my notebooks:

I have so many ideas that each of these notebooks represents a different story. Literally, since I'm slightly OCD, different books = different tales. Some are just notes scratched into the first few pages, others are dozens of pages long. A few will continue to bother me until I sit down and work on them and others I haven't touched in years. All ideas of things I would like to continue to work on.
But for the same reasons my focus was not on English or creative writing while I was in school, I am out job seeking. Financially it is irresponsible to simply concentrate on my writing (although it's what I love to do). I have a daughter to take care of and bills to pay. So I guess I'm okay with my mound of notebooks and my scribbles on napkins. At least I'm not giving up on this dream. I'll keep working on it and the more I work, the brighter the chances of finally finishing a novel and hopefully sharing it with others. That's the goal.

Adventures in blogging

So tonight I have decided to begin my adventure into the blogging world. My main reason is to give people who have read my work and liked it enough to want to read more or know when I have more a place to come to find me. I'm not a fan of a bunch of people I don't know following my Facebook (I'm not really a fan of Facebook, in general, honestly) and I don't do the whole Twitter thing. So I made the slightly-less-than-simple decision to blog. I figure it's like online journaling, right? While keeping in mind that it's on the internet for practically anyone to read...Oh well, I like to share my mind anyways.

For those who found their way here from my FanFiction profile, hello! For those who don't know what FanFiction is, welcome to the nerdy side of me. You can check out my posted story on there if you are curious:

Anyhow, so this will basically be my thing from now on, I guess. I'm sure writing these will become a tad easier once I become accustomed to it. So for now I will sign off and continue writing chapter twelve of Angel Eyes.

Laters,
Jessi
